Nearshore software development company in Poland
The usual risks of offshore are a different time zone, unclear code ownership and data outside the EU. Since November 2023, our engineers have worked in the Oslo team of Skyfri's energy management system, next to the client's own people.

Nearshore vs offshore vs onshore: what is the difference?
Nearshore software development means hiring a team in a nearby country that works in a similar time zone. Software outsourcing is usually described by distance:
- Nearshore: a team close by, so you share a working day.
- Offshore: a team far away, with a large time difference.
- Onshore: a team in your own country.
We are a nearshore partner. Poland is in the CET/CEST zone: the same hour as Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia, and one hour ahead of the UK. The whole working day overlaps with your team. Poland is also in the EU, and we process data within the EU (strictly, the European Economic Area).
Dedicated development team, team extension or a full project
Pick the model by how much of the delivery you want to run yourself.
Dedicated software development team
Choose it when you want to hire dedicated developers for a product that keeps evolving: the same core of people works on it for the long term.
Team extension
Our engineers join your team and work in your tools and your Scrum process, next to your own people. This model is also called staff augmentation. Skyfri in Oslo works this way.
Project end to end
We build the whole project with our own team, and you follow progress through sprint demos. Monetor in Stavanger is an example.

Nearshore software development for UK companies
For a team in the UK, Poland is one hour ahead, so stand-ups, demos and planning fit into the same hours.
A UK client gets a data processing agreement (DPA) for each project, based on Article 28(3) GDPR. You are the controller and we are the processor. Code ownership works the same for every client: the economic rights pass to you with every payment, and you receive the source code.
Nearshore software development for DACH and the Nordics
For teams in Germany, Austria and Switzerland there is no time difference, and the same goes for Scandinavia. Each project has an entry in our record of categories of processing activities (Article 30(2) GDPR).
Four of our nearshore projects are in Norway. Skyfri's energy management system (EMS) steers 7 plants, with more than 5 MWh of storage and more than 4 MW of battery power. Our collaboration started in November 2023 with a technical audit, followed by Big Room Planning with the client in Oslo. We work in time and material and Scrum, and the same core of our engineers has been on the project since 2024.
Kyoto Group's product development ran from January to December 2024 in the same model. In Oslo, BizBot's platform got a new UX and UI, 400 screens in total, with workshops in Warsaw, Oslo and Istanbul. And Monetor, in Stavanger, is a web application we built end to end, in Scrum, on AWS.

Cost and how to start
We bill in time and material by default, and a fixed price is possible when the scope is closed. The minimum project budget is 25,000 EUR, and a working MVP usually takes about 3 months.
Start with the free discovery workshop: it ends with an MVP scope, a roadmap and an estimate of cost, time and team composition. You can also write through the contact form and get an answer within 48 hours on working days. We also build custom software, mobile apps and cloud platforms.
