To understand the situation fully, you have to put yourself in the newcomer's shoes. Imagine you start your first day at work, and your feelings are mixed: you are curious and feel excited, but at the same time, you feel lost and stressed, as you probably do not know anyone in the company. You want somebody to take care of you, help you out and guide you through the onboarding process. That is why it is essential to accompany every new employee during the first days at work. Show you care about them and waited for them to join your team. How to do it?

First thing: be close and be ready to answer all the questions your employee has. Remember to provide all necessary equipment like computer, cell phone, access card, dedicated e-mail address. Additionally, each person should have access to all the local discs, documents, and programs needed to work right away.

It is also crucial for every newcomer to have their workplace - desk, chair, and screen. When people feel uncertain about new surroundings, it can be a comfort to have their space, to feel they belong to the place. Besides, do not make your employees wait for their contracts - these should be already prepared, printed out, and ready to sign. All paperwork should be completed on the first day that the person joins the company.
